AzuraCub’s Top Video Games For Couples

Ever heard of the saying “the couple that plays together stays together”? Well, neither have I. So instead let me remind you that while you might like to spend your time playing video games while you’re both stuck at home during lockdown, but your partner probably wants to spend some quality time with you instead of waiting for you to finish up your gaming session.

As relationships are built on sharing experiences with each other why not share your gaming passion with them and break out a few video games you can play together. It might surprise them how much fun gaming can be, especially when you’re enjoying it with someone you love! Who knows, they might actually love it so much you could create the ultimate Player 2! Or they could become a monster who will never give you your controller back because they’re hogging the console.
Either way, you’ll need to read through my list of the 5 best games I think you and your partner can play!

1. The Forest

The Forest starts off with you and your son on a plane, your trip is short-lived when the plane is struck by a lot of turbulence and brought down to a remote peninsula. You wake up to find your son being taken away by what looks to be a person covered in blood.
It is now up to you to find your son, survive the deadly cannibals, and escape the island. The best part is you don’t have to do it alone! You get to spend hours with your partner running and hiding to avoid becoming dinner, crafting huts and shelters for your survival, and exploring this beautiful forest that will be sure to bring out the best in yourself and your companion, through laughter, crying, dropping trees on each other, or accidentally running through a fire in a panic.

Nothing says I love you more than being hunted by a few cannibals together.

2. Final Fantasy XIV

Explore the wonderful world of Eorzea as you become the hero of light who will bring peace to the realm and destroy the darkness.
For the couples, who’ve dreamt of fighting a dragon, saving a few moogles, traveling across the world and helping people out, or even going toe to toe against unimaginable summons that will test the limits of your strength then Final Fantasy XIV is the game for you. There is so much to do in this game that it’s hard to explain everything you can do!
And for the couples who would like to tie the knot in-game well, you can do that too! All you need to do is drag your partner through a very very long quest of while working together to get the ceremony ready. Have all your friends attend and boom you have a fun little in-game wedding.

Nothing shows that you love your partner like a few moogles walking you down the aisle.

3. Sea Of Thieves

Explore the deadly seas with your partner as you loot and steal from the world around you while trying not to get killed by other players doing the same thing!
I’ve only tried this game recently with my friends and I can definitely tell you that adventure awaits around every corner. You will be exploring the world, stealing treasure, and killing unique sea monsters while trying to dodge and cowardly running away from other pirates (or at least that was me).

Prove to your partner that you can bring them all the riches of the world by stealing it from someone else.

4. Ark Survival Evolved

Ark is known for testing your patience so why not work on this difficult skill while taming Ark’s dinosaurs in PVE? Or if you fancy a bigger challenge try to build and survive in PVP proving that you and your partner would be able to survive the age of dinosaurs together.

The game offers you a relaxing getaway for any couple for free, all you need to do is survive and not get eaten. Ark shows us just how the dodoes went extinct as they are one of the easiest things to hunt. Show your partner just how skilled you are at surviving in the wilds by taming some of the scariest and deadliest things know to man.

Nothing says I’ll stay with you forever like dying beside each other after a T-Rex attack and being remembered as a fossil.

5. Fall Guys

Laughter is the best medicine, and laughing with friends or a loved one can turn every bad day into a good one.
Now I’ve never played Fall Guys, but I’ve watched a few streams of people playing it now and I can promise you that you and your loved one will die of laughter… or maybe rage. But it’s still something you can do together right?
Fall Guys requires you to be at the top of your game and beat all the other contestants to get a really cool golden crown.
I for one really like this game because I get to watch others lose and get really frustrated and that sadly brings me joy. I know, I know, not very nice of me but I know for a fact that I would suck at the game. So rather than experience the anger firsthand I would rather go and laugh at the other person for trying so hard :)

Nothing says I love you more than being cute and stealing the spotlight and being Number 1!

Playing video games on your own is fun, especially if you are playing a game you really do enjoy! However, playing video games with friends, family and loved ones makes so much more sense because you are sharing a passion with them and they will naturally enjoy the things you enjoy if you help ease them into it. Who knows, you could be responsible for igniting someone’s love for a game!
So while we are still in lockdown, grab your partner, friend, or a family member and have fun playing video games together!

Lots of Love
