An Open Heart In Troubled Times: A Message To My Fellow Dreamers
It’s been two weeks since the news broke, and the community around us changed overnight. In that time, I’ve watched the storm quiet down just enough to hear what truly matters: the heartbeats of those still here, still showing up, still trying to make sense of the mess left behind.
We’ve recently seen how much damage a persona can cause not just to a vtuber’s career, but to the very community that built them up with love, trust, and time. It’s been a hard pill to swallow. But instead of focusing only on disappointment, I want us to take this as a moment to learn and reflect. Not just about who we choose to idolize, but about the kind of creators, supporters, and friends we want to be.
This article I wrote as an open invitation from the heart ♥

To our non-vtuber readers I know, this all probably looks silly to you… You do not care for the vtuber drama, and you might wonder why we care so much, why we’re “idolizing” anime avatars and digital voices. I get it. I really do.
For example I tried explaining the situation to a friend of mine who doesn’t even know I’m a vtuber. I was talking about how this person meant so much to us, a figure of comfort, inspiration, even hope. And in return? She gave me that look, you know the one, the one that says, “Oh no, not this animated nonsense again.” I felt small. I felt judged.
But here’s what I want to say, to all the outsiders peeking in:
You have someone you look up to, too. Maybe it’s a favorite podcaster, a Twitch streamer, a gamer, a YouTuber, someone who speaks to your soul when the world is too loud. That’s what vtubers are to us. They’re our light in the dark.
So maybe, just for today… Give us a little grace. Let us grieve. Let us feel. Let us rebuild.

Who I Am — And What I Hope To Offer
Hi. I’m AzuraCub, a soft-spoken South African vtuber and full-time mom.
I’m not flashy. I’m not famous. I don’t stream every day or have incredible talents like singing, gaming speedruns, or jaw-dropping models.
But what I do have is heart.
From the start, my dream has been simple: to create a small, cozy space where people feel safe, heard, and gently cared for. A place to unwind after a long day. A little digital den where you can just breathe.
That dream got a bit lost over time after I got doxxed. I trusted the wrong people. The burnout, the drama, the pressure — it crept in like fog and dimmed my spark.
But watching everything unfold these past few weeks… it reminded me why I started and what I wanted to create and stand for.
So I’m turning back to my roots — to you, my community.
And if you’re a wandering soul who’s hurting right now, I want to say this:
You’re welcome here. No questions asked.

This Isn’t About Clout. This Is About Care.
I know what you might be thinking… “Oh, there it is. She’s trying to gain followers from someone else’s downfall.”
But truly, I don’t have the energy for drama anymore.
I’ve faced my own small pile of it — from being stalked online, to receiving death threats, to being doxxed. As a new mom going through retrenchment at my day job, I’ve got enough on my plate. My time is too precious for anything that doesn’t bring peace and happiness.
I’m a mom first, a content creator second.
My streams are soft and slow. My writing is from the heart. My goals are simple — not fame, but connection. Whether I’m playing cozy games or writing blogs filled with emotion and hope, I just want to make people feel seen.
I might not have the biggest community, but the one I do have? It’s warm. It’s safe. And we’re growing it with kindness, not clicks.

To Creators, Big and Small: Don’t Give Up
To my fellow vtubers and streamers who are feeling discouraged after all the effort and hard work they put in, please don’t give up on your dreams.
Don’t let the actions of others dim the light you’ve worked so hard to build.
The truth is, your community doesn’t care how polished your model is or how perfect your content looks. They care about you. Your presence. Your kindness. Your vibe. Your humanity.
No matter how small your audience is, they chose you for a reason.
Be a good example. Show up with compassion. Love your space, no matter its size.
Kindness doesn’t trend, but it never fails.
An Open Invitation
If you’re feeling lost, hurt, or like your safe space just vanished overnight, my door is open.
Whether you need a quiet chat, a stream to relax to, or just a place to sit in digital silence and know you’re not alone… I’m here.
My content isn’t for everyone, and that’s okay. But if you’re someone who needs a soft place to land, this cozy momma cub will always make space for you.
Let’s keep dreaming. Let’s keep loving.
Let’s rebuild something better — together.
Lots of Love
